Chicken Holy Basil Rice Bowl

Chicken Holy Basil Rice Bowl is a classic quick and easy Thai dish. It can make delicious with just a few ingredients.


  • 200g chicken thighs

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • 2 tbsp cooking oil 

  • 1/2  tbsp light soy sauce  

  • 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce

  •  1 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp fish sauce

  • 200 g steamed rice

  • 15 g  red chili

  • 10 g  holy basil


Prepare the chicken thighs

Boneless chicken thighs cut into small pieces.

Prepare garlic and chili

Chili, stalks removed and washed. Garlic, peeled and washed, then pounded coarsely with chili and garlic.

Prepare holy basil

Holy basil leaves

PREP TIME : 10 minutes

COOKING TIME : 10 minutes

YIELD :  1 person



  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan or a wok over medium heat.

  2. Once the oil is hot add the pounded chili and garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.

  3. Now add the small sized pieces of chicken thighs and stir-fry for 2 minutes

  4. Then add fish sauce, light soy sauce, sugar and oyster sauce stir-fry and cook until the small sized pieces of chicken thighs are cooked well.

  5. Add holy basil and stir-fry for another second

  6. With a bowl of steamed rice scoop the fried chicken with holy basil from the pan and place it on top of the rice bowl. Enjoy
