Steamed Banana Cake

  • 7 ripe Pisang Awak bananas

  • Rice flour 100 g.

  • Tapioca flour 25 g

  • Coconut milk 250 ml

  • Sugar 50 g

  • Salt 1/2 tsp.

  • Shredded coconut for cake 100

  • Shredded coconut for topping 50 g


Banana → Ripe bananas are peeled and washed.

Coconut→ Use a coconut Shredder  to coconut shred the coconut into strips.

PREP TIME : 15 minutes

COOKING TIME : 35 minutes

YIELD : 4 people



  1. Pour water into the pot and put it on the stove over medium heat.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, put the bananas in it. Using a masher, mash the bananas until smooth.

  3. In a small mixing bowl, add rice flour, tapioca flour, salt, sugar and coconut milk. Use a hand whisk to beat until the flour dissolves and does not clump together.

  4. Pour the ingredients in a small bowl into a large bowl. Stir all ingredients until homogeneous.

  5. Add grated coconut and stir all the ingredients together. Now you get banana cake ready for stream

  6. In the steamer, place a small cup full of the steamer. Use a small spoon to scoop out the banana cake and place it in a small cup to fill it up. Put grated coconut on top and do this for every cup

  7. Place the steamer over the boiling pot and steam for 15-20 minutes over  medium heat. Take the steamer off the stove and let it cool down and then picking the “Steamed Banana Cake” out of the small cup now you are done.
