Thai Spicy Meatballs

Thai deep fried spicy meatballs

Thai deep fried spicy meatballs!!! Made with mince pork or chicken, it’s a delicious dish full of Thai herb. The outside is a little bit crispy and the inside is juicy.

Ingredients

  • 500 g mince pork or ground chicken 

  • 3 tbsp Thai toasted sticky rice powder

  • 2 tbsp Thai chili powder (or as much as your liking)

  • 1+ 1/2 tbsp fish sauce

  • 3 tbsp lime juice

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 4 tbsp tempura flour

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped spring onions (scallions)

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped culantro

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander

  • 2 tbsp finely chopped kaffir lime leaves 

  • 2 tbsp tiny sliced shallot

  • Vegetable oil for deep frying 

  • Cucumber, herbs, lettuce and chili, to serve

Prepare

  1. Spring onions, culantro, coriander and kaffir lime leaves, finely chopped

  2. Shallot, tiny sliced

PREP TIME : 10 minutes

COOKING TIME : 20 minutes

YIELD40 pieces

  1. Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and form into small bite-sized meatballs.

  2. Fill a wok or saucepan about one-third full with oil. When the oil is hot, add the meatballs in batches and cook for about 3 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Drain on a paper towel. Serve warm with cucumber, herbs, lettuce, chili.
