Minced pork holy basil

Minced pork holy basil  is a classic quick and easy Thai dish. It can be delicious with just a few ingredients. Served alongside a bowl of steamed rice and fried egg , This minced pork holy basil is the ultimate comfort meal for any occasion

Ingredients

  • 500g minced pork

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil 

  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce  

  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp fish sauce

  • 1/2 tsp dark soy sauce

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • Red chili as much as  your preferred liking

  • A handful of Thai holy basil

  • Steamed Jasmine rice and fried egg for serving

Prepare

  1. Basil, pluck the basil leaves off the stems.

  2. Chili and garlic, pounded coarsely

PREP TIME : 10minutes

COOKING TIME :  10minutes

YIELD :  4 people

directions

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the pan is hot add the pounded chili and garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.

  2. Now add the minced pork and stir-fry until the minced pork is almost done. Then add fish sauce, light soy sauce, sugar,oyster sauce and dark soy sauce and  cook until the minced pork is well done. Then add holy basil and stir-fry for another second.

  3. Transfer from the heat and serve with steamed  rice and fried egg.
