Stir-Fried Tilapia with Celery is a comfort food with a mellow flavor and freshness with celery and ginger and yet it’s really simple to make. It can be both an appetizer and a main dish.
Ingredients
250 g tilapia filet
500 ml vegetable oil (for deep frying the Tilapia filet)
Spring onion and celery, cut into 1-inch long pieces.
Ginger and red chili spur pepper, cut fine julienne.
Garlic, chopped.
Tilapia filet, cut into bite-sized pieces.

Coat the tilapia filet in the tempura flour. Then cook in hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Drain in a colander.
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a clean wok or large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and stir fry until slightly yellow or until fragrant. Now add soy bean paste and stir fry for 30 seconds. Then add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and water stirring, for 1-2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved.
Now add in the crispy tilapia, ginger, red chili spur pepper, celery, and spring onions, stir fry until well combined. Transfer to a plate and serve with Jasmine rice.
