Sweet chicken is chicken breast stir-fried with shallots, adding flavor with light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and palm sugar. Stir-fry until the sauce thickens. Eat with steamed rice, fried egg and Prik Nahm Pla very delicious


  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 365 g chicken breast

  • 60 g shallot

  • 2 tbsp palm sugar

  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 tbsp spring onion


Jasmine rice for serving

Fried egg and Prik Mahm Pla  (optional, but I think it’s mandatory)



  1. Chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

  2. Shallots, thinly sliced

  3. Spring onion, chop

PREP TIME : 10minutes

COOKING TIME :  10minutes

YIELD :  2 people

  1. Heat oil in a wok on medium heat. When the oil is hot add the shallots and stir fry until the shallot is clear and fragrant.

  2. Toss in your chicken. Keep stir frying continuously. At this stage you want to continue to stir and cook your chicken until it’s just about 70% cooked.

  3. Add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, palm sugar, dark soy sauce and water then stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

  4.  Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with  chopped spring onion. Serve with Jasmine rice, fried egg, and Prik Nahm Pla.
