Thai fried egg and crispy bacon salad

This salad is an absolute sensation. It’s fresh, tangy and crispy.  You’d better believe it’s packed full of flavor, too! Raid your pantry and turn eggs and bacon into something truly fabulous: a vibrant salad bursting with Thai goodness.


  • 150 g bacon

  • 4 eggs

  • 3 tbsp fish sauce

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 1/2 tbsp palm sugar

  • 3 tbsp warm water

  • 1 tbsp Thai chili paste

  • A handful of celery

  • 40 g tomato

  • 40 g red onion

  • 15 g fresh chili


  1. Bacon, cut into 2-inch long pieces. 

  2. Celery, cut into 1-inch long pieces. 

  3. Red onion, thinly slice 

  4. Fresh chili, finely slice 

  5. Tomato, cut in half

PREP TIME : 10minutes

COOKING TIME :  25minutes

YIELD :  2 people


Thai fried egg and crispy bacon salad


  1. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook for 10 minutes or until crisp. Transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel to drain.

  2. Crack an egg into a bowl. Then use the same frying pan with the oil from frying the bacon over medium heat. Once the pan is hot carefully place the eggs into the pan and cover the pan with a lid and cook until the egg yolks are well done. Transfer to a cutting board with a paper towel to drain. Then cut into bite size pieces.

  3. Add palm sugar, warm water, fish sauce, and lime juice into a large mixing bowl. Stir until the palm sugar dissolves. Then add Thai chili Paste and fresh chili and stir until combined. Now add the fried eggs, red onion, tomato and celery and stir until combined. Then add crispy bacon and stir until combined. Transfer to a serving platter.
